but it's for a friend that's a single mom and doesn't have much $. it's a T3958: 2.93 478 celery, 845 chipset, 512mgs ram on board vid/aud. she got a keyboard error and it didn't work. i powered down, swapped keyboards and hit the power button and...nada, nothing zip, zingo. i tried unplugging peripherals hoping for a post but nothing. power light on the mb was green. i've swapped out mb's, ram, p/s same thing, cmos battery. nothing powers up.
any intelligent suggestions would be welcome.

I just worked on one of these. They have a weak power supply that blows up, taking the motherboard with it. The one i worked on, there was a blown capacitor bouncing around in the power supply.

The 845 chipset in that thing is a second revision which supports Pentium D cpu's. Not a common thing to come to find. It was mostly sold as low cost OEM boards.
