emachine 366i

Since it is a 366, I'm guessing it is a CeleronA and may be able to overclock to 550 if your motherboard will support adjusting the FSB to 100. Try checking between the very last expension slot, and the second to last expansion slot for a name.

I just checked the website, and the "florida-C 366i" emachine, uses the Intel440LX chipset. I believe that this only allows you to run on a 66mhz bus.... so I think you're SOL.

Upgrading the CPU to something faster would be really hard to do on that LX. You would have to change the motherboard. Since it's an old crap ass budget E-Machine, you would have to basically gut the thing out to make a worth while upgrade.

E-Machine sucks bad. Everything in there is intergrated so really only the CPU and Ram can be upgraded. No chance of OC.

Just add another 32 megs of ram, no need to upgrade the cpu, leave the rest alone, use it as a web surfer, and never buy anything from them again.

It already has 128 megs of ram. It`s my old system,I gave it to my son.Probably just talk him into building one this summer. Thanks
