The last preview that made me want to watch it less was Jack and Jill. This looks very unoriginal.

In the extended trailer, at 2:26, the dude looks like he's holding a Darth Maul lightsaber. What the hell? Definitely has the look of D9, no doubt about that.

How has no one mentioned that this is basically the entire plot of the Battle Angel Alita manga that's been out since the late 90's? James Cameron has been sitting on the rights to the movie for well over a decade. I guess Neil Blomkamp decided to just take the idea and run with it.

Just watched the trailer. Totally uninspired, appears to have the plot of a dozen other movies.

I've seen enough movies with no plot, lots of loud effects, and multiple explosions. And I'm a huge Sci-fi fan.

Well, now that Pacific Rim has come out and consensus is pretty good, this is the next one that holds promise as a good sci fi flick. I'm looking forward to seeing it, anyone else? I like Matt Damon movies and I pretty much like everything sci-fi or futuristic.

also the rich / poor thing isn't played out it's expanding. The director likes his allegories.
