Elsa Gladiac Geforce 2MX

I will be getting this card next friday.

A few questions.

1. Does anyone know whether it has 64 bit DDR Memory or 128 bit SDR Memory.
Many people see the DDR and think that means higher performence but tests show the 128bit SDR performs better.

2. The Video module also seems like a good little purchase, allows video in and out functions, will this use an extra IRQ, it's a little module that attaches to the card, I wasn't sure because most seperate TV cards do, does the Voodoo 3 3500 use two??

3. I opted for the Elsa card over the Creative version because of the video I/O but also because it has a nice big heatsink on it when Creative just have the chip there with no cooling, can you get a fan for the card for intensive use or OC?

Cheers Muchly,

I own the same card:

1. 128 bit SDR

2. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't think it requires a second IRQ. however I could be wrong since I don't own the module.

3. On my heatsink, there are no screwholes so I can't attach another fan that way. However, IMO the huge heatsink does a damn fine job for me since I'm not a heavy overclocker. If you really want better cooling a Thermaltake Blue Orb will work nicely.

Have Fun.

Creative just have the chip there with no cooling

I just tried a Creative MX out temporarily for a few days. Clocked it at 200 core/360 DDR with no heatsink and had no problems at all.

Didn't give up my V5500 for it, though.

ta muchly.

I'm happier that it has the SDR memory, and the heatsink seems more than adequate for my needs.

The Creative one is fine but for the extra £10 I get the heatsink, Better memory bandwith (small difference but thats good enough for me) and the optional video I/O.

I was gonna get a V4 4500 but an extra £30 for 50% performence drop based on Anandtech's benchmarks, no thanks.

There's not really much point in getting a blue orb for geforce cards is there? Overclocking the core makes pretty much no difference, it's overclocking the memory that is vital to boosting your frame rates.
