Moore's law has always been a pet peeve of mine. It's not by any measure a law of any sort. It should have been called Moore's speculation.

I presume it's called Moore's law largely because it rhymes. Moore's historical observation, or Moore's rule-of-thumb-that-so-far-seems-to-accidentally-fit-the-data would be better, but not nearly so snappy.

lol it doesn't rhyme in American English (does it actually rhyme across the pond?). Moore's Law was a solid observation, which became a self-fulfilling prophecy for decades.

Tesla - which does not have a PR department and does not advertise - is running ads on Twitter asking shareholders to give Elon more money.

Someone has to prop up X revenue. Surprisingly threatening one's customers does not bring them back.

Some more info has come out on the firing of the the entire supercharger division and their chief, Rebecca Tinucci. Basically, she got Musk's panties in a bunch by disagreeing with him after he wanted her to fire more of her team after the first round of layoffs. Man child can't be disagreed with and didn't just lash out at her, but fired everyone one who worked under her.

Musk, the employees said, was not pleased with Tinucci’s presentation and wanted more layoffs. When she balked, saying deeper cuts would undermine charging-business fundamentals, he responded by firing her and her entire 500-member team.

Really?

Damn. I got to change my business plans. I was going to open a restaurant, and have all my staff tell customers to go F themselves. I mean, if it works for a genius like Musk, it's got to be worth following right?

20K people got let go, Tesla is on a total downward trajectory financially, all because of Elon and him being exposed for the moron he is, the emperor has no clothes, and he is out there begging for his unparalleled 55 billion dollar compensation package. Talk about trying to fail upwards. What a total piece of shit soulless human being.

But even if the average wage for those workers was 100K/yr, he's still saving only 2B total.
Elmo still wants his 56B in compensation.

The guy is a maroon.

Yeah. It's just another example of him grifting. But he has to come up with some sort of explanation on why he deserves more money.

I originally rooted for Tesla, but let's be honest, Tesla's success came at the back of many talented employees who are now treated like crap as well as government handouts.

56b about covers his Twitter adventure. He wants Tesla to finance his toddler tantrums and consequences of binging out on Ketamine.

And on top of that, they've become an also ran in the industry. Seems they can't make money if the old Moore's law has also begun to flop. Too bad X-ray lithography seems like a never. (Make a good buck on a penny stock involved in that business).
Well, when you can't actually perform, just pay off, I mean lobby congress and voila! 3 Billion lands your way. Should be in a different thread.

Maybe the Pentagon feels they own them for giving them the Pentium chip design.

Elmo is having a bad year

From the article:

-The VNL Autonomous has been designed for SAE level 4 autonomy and combines long-range lidar with radar, cameras, and other sensors. Input from these sensors is processed by a redundant pair of computers running Aurora's AI software.-

Shitty tech. Volvo is using cameras and other sensors.

What a waste of money. Other sensors are stupid for autonomous driving. Elon knows it's shitty tech!

Yann LeCun forgot this doozy.

Musk claims that you (the employees) are an integral part of the company, only to fire you the next day in what can only be described as an adolescent rage-quitting a game.

Wait what?
Actually, I thought I saw something many years ago about this, but I get totally comflicting search results. Nothing approaching Intel GIVING the Pentium design to the military.

First this article:

Second:

But some gool ole boy lobbying must have changed some minds in congress.

Maybe it's just me, but something smells. (No, Trump's not around)
