ELO or ELP?

ELO, obviously.

It was a tough choice. ELO's worst songs are worse than ELP's worst.

But my favorite ELO tunes I like more than my fave ELP's.

So, ELO, by the slimmest of margins.

I voted ELP out of nostalgia, but I really dig ELO's "Mr. Blue Sky"
It was so trippy when Kelly Groucutt passed away. There was an old episode of CSI on that day that ran that song at various times through the whole episode.

Option for never hearing of either of them?

I think you have to be over 30 to know these bands. 🙁

Or, y'know, actually listen to the radio once in a while.

That would be why.

Only do internet radio the past few years.

When you graduate high school, a whole new world will open up to you. 🙂

Sarcasm meter fail. 🙁

It's been many a year since I was there.

I saw ELP live, twice. Three brilliant musicians working together seamlessly. When I finished restoring my old JBLs, ELP's first album was the second record I played through them.

As for the the other group mentioned, you couldn't pay me enough to sit through twenty minutes of ELO's mediocrity.

Not that I have a really strong opinion on the subject...

What was the 1st?

What model JBLs?

You can't really compare them (of course), but I voted for ELP. In fact, I just listened to "From the Beginning." 😀

What was the 1st?
Side one of Thomas Dolby's the Flat Earth

What model JBLs?
L26 (Decade). Replaced the woofer surrounds and tweeter foams, reworked the crossovers.

Nice.

I recently replaced the foams on one of my Advent Prodigy II's.

Lots of value & good sound in older speakers.

I like both but prefer ELP by far. Used to make my parents' place shake when listening to Lucky Man, Knife Edge & The Barbarian on my Cervin Vegas. Love Trilogy, Pictures At An Exhibition, and Brain Salad Surgery too.

The ELP 1977 concert at Montreal's Olympic stadium was the biggest indoor concert I ever attended. There was so much dope being smoked that there was a haze in the air.😀
