why does he always talk in third person about himself?

here is an example from a book my daughter has

Elmo raced over to the playground, where his friends were playing. "Quick, everyone!" he called to them. "Help Elmo distract those monsters so they don't get mad at the puppy."

Back in high school the hottest girl there had this thing for Elmo. I brought her a stuffed Elmo on our first date. I got to play "Watch me get laid" Elmo!🙂
 
Dunno... I have had tha tpic on my hard drive for years. Forgot where I got it. But I seem to remember the Bert is Evil website from years ago. It was down last time I checked it... but that was years ago too.

You are probably correct... that site is probably where it originated.

edit: that is not the orginal Bert is Evil site, is it? I remember it had a lot of pages.

The original bert is evil page (from like '95) probably isn't around anymore. 😛

It might not have been that early, but I remember seeing it from my "early days" on the intarweb.
 
I got my first internet account in 1992. It was a demon.co.uk account. They were brand new, and I was like their ninth customer ever. I moved back to the USA in 1996, and know it was after my move to the USA that I found the Bert is Evil site!
