It looks very similar to twitter but claims to be ad-free.

I have it. It's in very early stages of development.

It's trying to be another social network without the advertisement stuff that Facebook does. (Selling your data, spamming with ads, etc.) No idea if it'll take off but it's worth getting on it just to grab a username you want. I got the one I wanted.

If it takes off they'll need a lot of money to scale, which means investors, which means they'll have to come up with a revenue model, which means...
 
I got one on launch, will probably never use it. I hate social media.

if it somehow generates invites I'll just post one here since I don't care about the genre.

Is the goal to be membership based? do they sell add-ons or premium services? intrigued, if they're less creepy than netflix

Seriously, though... if you're not an "A" or "B" list celeb, a venture capitalist, a famous tech blogger, and/or are related to one of the above, they probably don't want your business yet.

But, hey, if you got an invite for me, I'll take it! I'd like to try it out until they either go bankrupt or sell out to advertisers. *

* Sorry guys, but your "no cost, no ads, only charge for premium features" business model has been tried by hundreds of .com's before, including one that I used to work at. Not enough people will ever pay for the premium features for the site to break even. Don't believe me? Ask Anand how much money he made off of the premium memberships for this forum 🙂
