She's had a good life. Had to deal with many assholes in her time. End of an era in the UK.

She is 96. How many of us will live to be that age, and in decent shape as well.

She had a good charmed life.

She had a good run, but yeah the moment is always sad either way. My great grandma made it to 94 before she passed. It felt like she would make it past 100 as she was tough as nails, but at that age once the body starts to go, there's no turning back.

Charles can finally take over and be the active monarch he's wanted to be and then run the monarchy into the ground. He's got a good 20 years based on familial history.

As an American, this doesn't really matter to me, and I never really understood the British system of Monarchy with a ruling Parliamentary system.

She had a good life, but sad nonetheless. My favourite story of her is when she brought a saudi prince for a tour around the palace - and she drove!

Nothing sad about living in relatively good health till the age of 96. Never met anyone who's lived forever, and in good health at 96 in bed surrounded by family is basically like the top 1% as far as ways to die.

Meanwhile, the Saudis jailed up the woman who advocated for Saudi women to be able to drive for three years.

Not really that surprising. After the blatant racism that the British press expressed regarding his marriage it's not really that surprising that he was late and she didn't come with him.
