They should replace her with a liberal. Political "discussions" on The View will work much better that way. /s
I have no idea why you quoted me...

And what would you conclude if Walters bold-faced lied by saying the following just prior to announcing nonrenewal of Hasselbeck's contract?

Agree. But isn't it odd that when they nonrenewed her contract a few days later they stated that it was on the basis of audience polling which indicated that said she was too conservative. I would say their credibility is a little lacking....how about you?I would say that has nothing to do with her being conservative.

Walters and Bill Geddie are the executive producers of The View. They have a huge role in making these decisions!Walters' credibility, perhaps... but she's not who ultimately makes these decisions.

The real reason is that ratings are going south and they need to appeal to a younger audience. That's why Behar "retired" and Hasselbeck's contract isn't being renewed due to her being "too conservative". These guys are masters of spin...lying comes naturally for these scumbags.ABC execs have a bigger role.
In any case, nothing points to her being non-renewed because management or Walters/Geddie decided on their own she was too conservative.
I suspect the real reason she was not renewed is neither her ideology nor anything else that's been said publicly. In Hollywood, the real reason things happen is usually far more fickle.

Yeah...management had nothing to do with it.... which still makes Incorruptible's OP and the connotation therein as ridiculous as I originally said.
"Too conservative" for a younger audience... seems to me the viewers' opinions are the ones who made this decision, not management's opinion.
Actually I don't give a damn. :biggrin:Were you this upset when 'Sex and the City' ended?
Yeah...management had nothing to do with it.
They had nothing to do with initially saying "We have no plans for Elisabeth to leave this show" only to turn around a few days later and nonrenew her contract.
Management's complete lack of credibilty doesn't seem to phase you as you defend them.
