EliteXC to be tape delayed on the west coast tonight?

The organization is EliteXC. UFC is a competing organization.

The sport itself is MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).

WAR KIMBO! I wanna see him KO Thompson in brutal fashion so he can move up more and fight better competition.

I watched those fights last night and walked away with the overwhelming feeling many of those were fixed, to many shenanigans with doctors and that Ref was pretty transparent about playing favorites.

Seems to me EliteXC is a crooked organization who went out of their way to keep their top money draws from loosing.

The stopped the fight because his ear was bleeding? Or you friggen kidding me?

yeah. not to mention it was not much blood. Also they stopped another one for an eye poke instead of giving the guy the 5 minutes.

it was a mess. EliteXC is a joke if this is how they do it.

I'm wondering how much of this came from the CBS exec's though. Maybe they are worried about too much blood or any indication that the sport is the way it was 10-15 years ago.

There wasn't that much blood, but that dude looked like he was asleep on his feet. Of course, Kimbo showed in 2nd round that he can be put on his back by a guy who's 90% knocked out, so you never know what would have happened, like... that guy could have put Kimbo in the crucifix position again and throw a few harmless punches to come away with a 29-28 decision victory and tarnish EliteXC's biggest draw.

It seemed like I was watching a homogenized MMA. I'd assume that CBS doesn't want to be seen as showing a human cockfighting event.

Kimbo should have lost that fight if ref'ed straight up. Both fighters were dead on their feet. If both were no names, the other guy would have won in the second.

it wasn't EliteXC people it was the athletic commission, there were some shotty calls, but none can be directly blamed on Gary or EliteXC. If anything it was the commission + CBS wanting the first network telivised MMA event to be a little less human cockfight'ish. Which resulted in some questionable reffing & doctor calls.

I believe the female fight was stopped because CBS didn't want the viewers to see a female that banged up get banged up worse. To be honest I'm surprised they allowed a female fight on the card period.

Definitely a dissapointment, but I can't say that I am really surprised. With their first foray into broadcast MMA, I am sure that CBS had a strategy session with all the players (refs, doctors, etc) to make sure that they were all on the same page - mainly to keep it as tame as possible.
