Elite, Frontier, First Encounters Fans please read!

I'm a HUGE fan of the Elite series of games, but I'm having difficulties playing them
in the new systems, things are just to fast to able to control them...

So I was wandering what Space Combat, Action, Strategy, Simulation, Merchant game are you guys
playing now?

I tried privateer and the wing commander series but I don't like them that much...

Any suggestions??

Musta spend thousands of hours, especially with Elite II.

I dont know of any games that are quite up to Elite's level, but the Privateer games were pretty good.
Also, not exatly the same kind of games, more pure fighting games, but Freespace I&II were incredibly, still playing them, give them a try if you haven't, the rock big time, and this is from a guy who doesn't usually like space sims.

An Elite IV by Mr.Braben would truely rock!

Online: jumpgate is supposed to be good, I do own it, but I haven't started it yet.
You can download it for free, and play for I think 7 days, and then you gotta pay for it.

I had both Elite II and the follow-up part, but I never played too far because of bugs.
Especially the last Elite had a very involved storyline.

Man I love Frontier!! I downloaded an amiga emulator just to play it!! The only problem is that, due to the nature of the conversion of the game, there isnt enough room to have more than two or three saved commanders, so I cant have an assasin, trader, military/navy one, just gotta stick with one or two 🙁

Just don't expekt an Elite killer, as they're not the same kind of games, but they rock so friggin much anyway 🙂
