harmful hormones? they inject cows with COW hormones, not that injesting hormones can affect one anyways considering digestion destroys.

Taken from this site.

The exact cause of BSE is not known but it is generally accepted by the scientific community that infectious forms of a type of protein, prions, normally found in animals cause BSE. In cattle with BSE, these abnormal prions initially occur in the small intestines and tonsils, and are found in central nervous tissues, such as the brain and spinal cord, and other tissues of infected animals experiencing later stages of the disease.

Getting to the other part of your question, but in regards to dairy products:

"Scientific research indicates that BSE cannot be transmitted in cow's milk, even if the milk comes from a cow with BSE." This being where BSE = Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy

Edit: Heh, the post above mine just finished answering the rest.

I know a couple bodybuilders who do not consume dairy while they are trying to get into compitition shape. However, because of this you become lactose intolerance until you're stomach is used to the dairy again (ie, first glass of milk you drink better be near a toilet). It alsways seemed a bit extreme to me, but for these people their looks are their life.

It's unnatural to eat dairy after suckling, so why would anyone say dairy is a necessary part of human diet??? The food pyramid is a load of sh!t.

Also note: rice protein would seem to be a safer substitute than soy products.

What's wrong with soy products?

Where's the list of what is safe to eat?

Interesting. I drink 1/2 cup of soy milk a day. I think I might give it up.

This is the first time I've read that Soy is actually bad for you. I've been eating soy on a regular basis (daily) for a couple months now and I'm not sure what to believe.

Yup, cheese is my friend ;)

I really don't understand why people think they need to trick their body into loosing weight. If you eat healthy and less and exercise the right muscle groups more, you will get abs and whatever else you'd like. It's simple science. And I would imagine the reason dairy is "bad" is because it has a fair amount of fat, which seems to go for the abs (and thighs on girls) first. But it also has a fair amount of things that are good for you, and I have trouble believing cutting anything 100% out of your diet is good for you. Despite all these new fads, I'm a big believer in the whole balanced diet thing.

And I have to agree that really buff girls are not my cup of tea. In shape is good, but a flat stomach looks better than a 6-pack IMHO.

Soy can give you bitch tits (or so I've heard. I don't really care, since I hate that stuff anyway ;)), and soy and rice milk both have inferior protein to milk :)

I would tend to agree with you but I'm familiar with the author of one of the articles and I think she's legit.

I have yet to hear of anyone getting CJD from dairy products. BSE is transmitted to humans through sloppy slaughterhouse practices (brain & spinal cord matter contaminating the beef).

I wish people would publish that soy actually has female hormones instead of just marketing it as a health product.

Fvcking a.

40 days of daily soy intake, and I feel like a complete loser for believing the hype.

I'm glad I'm stopping now.

Nutrition has to be the most annoyingly ambiguous human knowledge subject of all time (ok, politics is close).

I'm going to just eat whatever the hell I want in normal, balanced proportions. What are we supposed to eat? I can't eat salmon as often as I'd like, because high levels of mercury. I'm certain of course that there are "studies" indicating that the levels of mercury are not harmful, but there are opposing studies that say they are; ambiguities abound.

Eat soy! Don't eat soy! Carbs are the devil! Carbs are good! Everything is in a constant state of nutritional duality, because for every benefit there exists its antithesis as well. Just use common bloody sense, eat balanced meals, and don't be gluttons.

I'm off to eat some of my favorite Irish Dubliner cheese with no hormones or GMOs.

1) Craft some research showing ____ food is bad for you
2) Create a fad diet based on said research
3) PROFIT! (or fame)

my friends personal trainer is a fitness competitor/model and this chick is rock hard. because its coming up to competition time she only eats protein. she doesn't even eat vegetables :Q. eggs, meats, cottage cheese, protien shakes, etc. she told us that if you want visible abs, you pretty much have to stop eating all carbs. its not about the number of sit ups.. its all about diet.

cottage cheese is a great source of protein. Best to be consumed before bed as it is a source of slow absorbing protein giving the body a constant supply threw the night.
