He has such gorgeous eyes.

he probably got more. IIRC, he was famous beforehand, and his character is harder to fill than frodo's.

Exactly and people need to remember that he'll be cashing in on that success further by being able to demand more for future roles.

What about the merchandising? I thought SAG had negotiated something long ago whereby any SAG member must be paid royalties if his character's likeness is to be used on commercial merchandise.

A good boss would go back and make things right. Too bad there are not many (any) good bosses anymore....

Micheal Keaton took a flat $50,000 for Batman (instead of a percentage), because he didnt think it would go anywhere.

Oh, and Charles Grodin passed on the charecter of Han Solo for the same reason.
So George Lucas asked Harrison Ford to fill in the roll temporarily.

This kinda reminds me of that guy who wrote Spider Man, Stan Lee. He created spider man, and Incredible Hulk, Iron Man, the Mighty Thor and the X-Men. The guy created those comics and only is collecting a salary of close to a million dollars a year from MArvel. Spider Man the movie has generated billions in business from marketing and movie royalties.

Considering his age and limited roles, I'd say he's entitled to at least $20 million for all 3.

No way. He was a very good established young actor well before LOR...in fact he had already been in 15 movies or so.

If he only took a flat fee of $1 million, there have to be personal reasons, otherwise its bs.

A source says that Keaton, who was paid an estimated $5 million for Batman and $10 million for Batman Returns, "was demanding" $15 million to reprise his role as the Caped Crusader, along with an additional "financial consideration" if production went past a certain date. The source says that's when Warner Bros. ...

I'd say he made off good. He's at the age where it's crucial to make your name established for future success, else you'll just be having tiny roles for the rest of your career. He came onboard as a child actor, which is generally accepted as not being viable for adult acting roles. Remember that most actors hardly make anything; there's a huge pool out there.

Blah, he sucked as Frodo anyway. I loved the movies but his acting was the flattest of any of the main characters in the movie except maybe Liv Tyler's.
