I/ve tried this and it works great on certain elevators. Does anyone know if it works when someone in the elevator has pushed a floor button and then u do the hack? I want to try but couldn't get the balls to do it. 🙂

Work for a local delivery place and they look down on us.


 
This is great. Payback for all the lazy people who needlessly take the elevator up only 2 floors (or even just one).

Hm I came across an article on crosswalk hacks. Apparently the FBI shut that site down when they posted crosswalk codes to walk anytime, etc. :Q

rightfully so, b/c it was causing traffic accidents when people would use that hack.
 
I read that online last night too..
It's a user adjustable function in the firmware. It doesn't work unless the elevator maintenance people have it enabled.

I gotta take the elevator no matter what. For some reason the stairs are emergency only... Yes, I walked in on my 2nd day of work not knowing and was locked into the stairwell on the 20th floor and had to walk down to the lobby setting off alarms the whole way down.
 
I have a class on the 11th floor of a building on campus... but there are these @sshats how decide to go up 1 or 2 floors (as previously stated by another) and that pisses the living sh1t out of me. I'm going to try this "hack" and show them that walking two flights is not going to kill them! and i'll never be late for class again! mauahahahah :evil:

Not rightfully so.. Rather, that's a blatant violation of First Amendment rights. Instead of going after the site posting the hacks, the FBI should go after the companies involved and force them to create a crosswalk that requires a key or something.

Dude this has caused thousands of dollars in damages not to mention put people in harms way as a result of punk kids using it, last time I checked the 1st amendment does not cover that. Anyways, it's not like there won't be a thousand other places that you could learn about it, places were not any idiot who is surfing the web will come across it, ahm..usenet...ahm.

same in my building as well, actually. stairs = emergency exit only. opening the door to any of the stairwells sets off an alarm and notifies the fire department, which in turn, leads to the building being evacuated until the FD gives the OK.

but we also have 16 elevators not counting the freight lifts, so it's never much of a problem...

The scope of the damages does not allow for infringement of Constitutional rights. Sure, the government could enforce the law much better if they allowed police to enter any home without a warrant - but the Constiution prevents that.

Essentially, you're stating that it's okay for the FBI to prevent people from learning how the crosswalk works because they can cause damages with it. People cause damages with guns all the time - should the FBI prevent people from learning how to use guns?

I'm saying the crosswalk has a fundamental problem... and instead of the FBI stepping in and trying to prevent education of the problem, the manufacturer of the crosswalk is liable and should be forced to fix it. Duh..
