Elevator Button Pushing Poll

So I work in a hospital and I notice this alot:

How many times do you really need to push the elevator button?

You only really need to push it once... but to emphasize that you are in a hurry, push it a few more times, won't make it faster but it feels good.

The lift at work needs a random amount of presses.

Sometimes (very rarely) it's 1, and is almost often more than 5

Confused

Thats like people pushing the walk signal button at an intersection. I noticed the average person pushes it 8-10 times when once is all you need.

There are two in my office building and one of them you either have to push the floor button twice or hold the button to get the doors to close sooner(door close button does nothing). The other one after you hit the floor button if you hit the door close button the doors will slide shut sooner and it wil get on it's way.

It sure seems like pushing it more changes the light faster... 😛

Floor button once, then close door button.

After exiting I punch all the buttons and laugh...

😀 I wait until the door opens on my floor then, if no one is around, I slide my hand down all the buttons.

I was taught that at our hospital, the elevator is programmed so that if you hit the button twice, the door closes sooner. I haven't heard about it anywhere else.

Button? I would just stand there until it opened, run in. When the door opened again, the surroundings would change. I vowed to never use one of those things again. I may end up on mars or something!
