How hard would it be to change an 802.11 access point from 2.4ghz to like a 900mhz system or so?

Mind you, I realize there's likely no practical reason to do so, but taking any given access point or even a 2.4ghz cordless phone or so and alter it to another frequency? Also, are there any laws I should be aware of...I imagine it'd be low enough power to keep me safe from any laws or so.

Unless you have a degree in electrical engineering it'd be pretty hard.

At the least, it would be extremely difficult.

More than likely, it would be impossible. The radio hardware in that kind of thing isn't going to be flexible like that. It would only be more expensive and offer nothing to the end user.
