Even a cable vs. hydraulic clutch.

Really?
AFAIK, Honda uses hydraulic clutches in all their current cars and they feel much better than a cable clutch IMO.

cable throttle.

I don't want no stinkin' computer between me and the gas.

I currently drive a drive by wire throttle and it ain't the same.

cable is infinitely better.. my bro's A4 has electronic, and he loves the passat my sisters have because of the cable throttle (though in every other aspect his car is vastly superior, and it is his baby.. but the electronic throttle is it's one weakness😉)

Yeah, seems like too much equipment to replace a simple cable... never got what the big deal was, I've never driven a hydro-clutched car that had significantly less pedal resistance to make it worth it

You have never driven a vehicle with a bad cable, eh? 😛

The Jeep had one, it would stick or stutter, it felt like trying to push a 50lb rock.

No, but I've driven a car with a leaky clutch master cyl and while it doesn't feel like a rock, it does suck to drive 😛

I can't tell if I like DBW in my Suby or not. At first it took some getting used to but now its fine by me.

The whole cable vs. hydraulic clutch is a whole 'nother story. I've driven a few cable cars and I just don't like the feel. Hydraulic for me please. For me its not even about how heavy it is. Hydraulic has more positive feedback IMHO.
