Bought a house. The garage door openers are the old style without rolling codes. Purchased the conversion kit to add an external transmitter to my current opener.

Got everything installed and the new transmitters work. However the instructions said to cut the antenna off of the internal transmitter. Well I did that and the stupid thing still has too much range. I am able to go outside with the old garage door opener and use it.

I took the opener apart and removed the wire antenna completely. Still didn't help. Any suggestions on how to decrease the range of the internal antenna? I would just buy a new garage door opener but my garage has two doors. That would mean $350 instead of the $80 for the conversion kits.
