I'm thinking about trying these to quit.
There are like 6 thousand different types and I have no idea what the differences are and which ones are better.
Can anyone suggest a brand?
I've tried OneJoy since we had some samples sitting in the office...doesn't really have a flavor at all and it doesn't have anything like the same feeling as smoking, I couldn't get into it at all but plenty of others around here have...from what I've heard they are all pretty much the same though
I've had the best luck with whitestagvapor.com. Everything I've gotten from them has been very high in quality and very reasonable in price. I prefer the dual coil cartomizers, and I didn't really like the tank systems.
You should give Chantix a try. I smoked from 17-27 culiminating with about a pack and a half and half can of dip a day habit. I made no attempts to quit before, and the only reason I gave Chantix a try was because the docs on the base were talking about it heavily and my mom kept calling me up telling me to quit. So basically I tried to quit with a real need or want to quit. I started taking the Chantix and smoking. Within about 4 days I stopped smoking. It's been 4 years now and I've probably had about 4 or 5 cigarettes total and those were when I was drunk at a bar.
I took the pills for about two months as well, though it only took 4 days to quit smoking. The doc said to keep taking them for about two months or so after you actually stop. I quit in 4 days because my understanding is that it blocks the receptors in your brain from getting the nicotine. So essentially you're smoking with no benefit. For me, at day 4, cigarettes became very gross. I couldn't even finish the last one I smoked it was so bad.
I've smoked e-cigs for about two years now. There are A LOT of bogus, overpriced ones out there. If you get a junk one, you will regret it and it will not work well for you.
I recommend:
Smokeless Image Volt
Standard eGo - get cartomizers, NOT a tank system or atomizer/cartridge combos.
There are tons of flavors out there; you will need to try many different ones to find what you like. Note that NONE taste like a real cigarette. Personally, RY4 with my Volt is my go to combo.
I personally like Blucigs and Cig2O the best of what I've tried. With Blucigs having just the best "taste" in general, though the Cig2O is the most like an actual cigarette. Stay far, far away from nJoy...they aren't even worth the cost of the packaging they come in. Almost no vapor at all and no taste to speak of, might as well roll up a post it note and suck on that. 21st Century smoke is so-so, not a waste but others better serve the purpose.
There's more to nicotine addiction than just nicotine. While nicotine is the greater part, using a pure nicotine quit mechanism isn't as effective as one using real tobacco, imo, mostly due to the MAOIIs
