hmm, let me think, oh i don't know, maybe faulty product?

haha, yeah, that's got to be it because it couldn't possibly be because operator error or on the part of the user, or because of the simple fact he never paid for the friggin game

never had these problems with mvp baseball 2003! i am thinking of getting mvp baseball 2004, it would suck if these problems happened for this series

Ubisoft sucks more, damn you!! I wanted Harpoon4!

But I think that Microsoft, hands down, releases the 'most polished' games without programming bugs. They're not perfect but better than EA stuff.

regardless of whether they are cracked or not, EA still releases crap products.

If I were to pirate a game, EXACTLY the way it was released, just because it didnt work doesn't mean its cause its pirated. I'm not saying I condone pirating in any way, but sometimes it seems its better to do that just to make sure the game will work on your system, then to dish out 50 bucks only to find out the game won't work (or won't work without HOURS of time put into it)

And don't say return it, cause many retail stores don't let you return games once you open them for cash back, you can only exchange for same game. (CD key issues)

Bottom line, pirating isn't the problem. Inferior products and bad tech support is.

Yeah, and knowing the game probably won't work on your system because of all of the problems in the past from EA games.....it makes you consider pirating the game in the first place to see how it runs on your setup. Before you buy that is.

id like someone to name something better than EA games. because as far as im concerned, EA has made some pretty fun games. NFS, LOTR, battlefield, medal of honor, sim city, black and white, C&C, and im guessing there are others i cant think of. they all seemed to work fine and look great on my PC, and i thoroughly enjoyed them. dont know whats the big deal.

wtf, jeff, you're an idiot.

There is something called a refresh rate override in the fvcking driver control panel.

I was always playing battlefield at 100 hz

But NCAA 2004 makes up for it. Nothing like starting up a dynasty with 6 guys all in Pac 10, then beating up on one another all season long. Good times.

Sad thing is, game publishers really don't have much to lose by releasing buggy games. How many people are actually gonna remember the publishers to their games, much less boycott them?

Not if you have your 1 hour video at the intro of each game.

No, you're an idiot... it's a known issue with the game. See? If you read the file details and scroll down to the 1.1 section it aknowledges the bug and says it was fixed, however, every update up to 1.5 I've had to change that same damn setting back to 1 after installing the updates. Can't say for sure about 1.6 cause I uninstalled it before that came out and I sold the game.

And you're an idiot too... if you read the whole thread you'd see why.

Battlefield 1942 - by default, it only allows a refresh rate of 60 Hz because it seems to be designed around the Windows XP refresh rate bug, and if you've fixed the XP bug, BF1942 won't work until you fix it too... it's now gone through about 6 updates/patches, and they STILL haven't changed the 0 to a 1 by default in the video configuration file

Probbably because the people who actually give a crap about what refresh rate they run their game in have already gone and changed the 0 to a 1. Those that haven't gone and fixed it probbably haven't fixed the refresh rate bug either.

All I have to say is...if its in the game, its in the game.

I don't know what I'd do without EA Sports. Can't wait for NCAA Football/Madden 2005!!!

If they would just release NCAA for PC... thats my ONE gripe! Well I have a few others but Ive worked around them for now.

Yeah, those bozos really screwed up Maxis, too. Will Wright and his development team used to put out a lot of cool games... now it seems that the only new products that Maxis put out now are overpriced and overhyped SimCity and Sims expansion packs. 🙁

How in the hell does a company survive like this?

You are their beta tester. They will be sending you a thank-you letter shortly. 🙂

You can so that about all software made today. There are more bugs in Microshaft's code then a Krotch Krickets in a whore house 😀

God I hope the new EA games on PS2 support the hard drive. I'm tired of filling up half my memory card with a Dynasty. Also the load times should be improved with it. If they don't support the hard drive, i'll buy an X-box.

I'm just wondering when game companies will decide that developing games for the PC isn't worth the hassle and just start developing them for the consoles. There are so many little variances between all the computers out there and it just causes tons of problems. Not to mention other software installed on a computer can cause problems too.

On a console it's easier to develop the games as you don't have to make it compatible with tons of hardware, don't have to support someones game not running because they have tons of adware of other software problems. Also piracy is probably less prevalent in consoles than on the pc.

I fully expect it's only a matter of time before game developing for the pc becomes a rare thing.
Yeah, maybe for one or two poor companies. Why is it that so many othercompanies' titles are ported just fine, but not EA? I'm not a big fan of most of the games they make anyway, but of all comnpanies, they should just abandone PCs. It's clear the time and effort goes into consoles.
