DICE Canada Closed [October 04, 2006, 09:15 am ET] - 17 Comments
Following the completion of EA's acquisition of DICE (story) comes word from DICE Canada that their offices have been closed:
On the morning of Oct 2nd hours after EA finalized the buyout of DICE, it closed the Canadian subsidiary DICE Canada (Developers of BF: Vietnam and BF2: Special forces). There where 28 employees at the Canadian office.
Got this off of www.bluesnews.com.
First, it's buying an exclusive NFL license to snuff out competiton in the football genre, next we get ads placed all throughout every beloved franchise they've acquired, and finally they forcibly buy out a company with a great idea and most likely will outsource it overseas to raise profits.
Are there no lows EA won't go to?! I used to be able to convince myself that it was ok to pick up BF2 or a NFS series game every now and then, but I just can't do it anymore. I expect them to start using Starforce copy protection in the near future to complete the ring of hate towards them from the gaming community.
