Electricity question.

Sory for stupid question, I am new to physics so i want to ask if i have device, lets say TV and it consumes 81 Watt, its consumes 81 Watt per hour or minute?

81W is the power it uses. If you run it for 1 hour it uses 81Wh.

A Watt is a unit of power. Energy is power * time.

What he said. If you use it for one hour, you have consumed 81 watt/hours of energy.

Your electric bill is measured in kilowatt hours. So for the 81 watt example, you would have to run the TV for approximately 12 hours to have used 1 kilowatt hour of electricity. (probably about $0.08-0.12 depending on where you live)

For comparisons sake, I use about 1100 kilowatt hours of electricity a month in my house.

If this is a rateing on the plate, it is the maximum it will consume, usually at turn on. It's actual current consumption during use will be much lower. They have to label it at max for UL ratings.

Wow its about 92$ here where i live. My bill is usually ~32$ and i consider it high, but i am drom europe.

You can buy things at Home Improvement Stores that you plug into the wall and then plug a device into it and it measures how much electricity it uses. I alwaysa wanted to get one of those and do some testing on different things I have to se how much electricity is actually being used by different thigns we have on all the time.
