I have 2 sets of identical flourescent lights, but only one of them has a plug that goes in an outlet, the other one only has 3 exposed wires. Would it be alright if I set the 2 up on the same plug? Would they still work?

Yes, you could wire both lights to the same cord. Just make sure the same color wires are tied to the same color wires.

I'd say that if you have to ask, you and your immediate family (or other people in you building) are better off for you not trying.

Do you know the difference between hot and neutral? If not, start by reading a short book on home wiring, which is probably available at any good hardware store.
