First: 115V. I know someone will ask. 😉
If I have a split load lead coming from the wall, red wire and black wire, and a three prong female receptacle, can I just screw both the red and black to the hot screw (typically brass?)
I know some plugs have two brass screws, one for each color, but I was always under the impression they went to the same tabs on the outlet.
The reason why I'm concerned is because the device I'm plugging in (a stove top) grounds on neutral and it looks like inside the range the red and black leads go to different places.
