electrical generator (output seemingly exceeds input)

I saw a few pages a while back with people experimenting with apparently impossibly efficient generators which was theorized as generating the extra power via interaction with virtual electrons.

The thing wasn't very big and was primarily coils of wires and looked alot like a transformer, I think I saw the story on slashdot, maybe a year or two ago.... anyone seen this? I've spent the last 45min trying to find info, but to no avail

[edit]
It wasn't a perpetual motion machine, just looked like one on the surface, something about virtual electron interaction due to background radiation I think... If memory serves it was U shaped and the opening was down. It was also fairly small, about 8-10 inches wide I think....

Sounds like a perpetual motion machine.

That extra power must be coming from somewhere otherwise you could just plug it into itself and watch it go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go and go...

Didn't anybody here read the book in their Junior High General Science class? You can't get more out than you put in.
