cuz nobody else plays bass. there's nothing quite as gratifying as hammering out G notes for 4 minutes.

Get a bass guitar and a bigger amp than the guitarist. Crank that and drown out the lead guitarist with your sick bass FTW!

Bass is more fun, but he'll get a lot more chicks with guitar.

In case nobody else mentioned it, there are less bassists, so they are harder to come by. This is apparently a widely held secret.

LOL- this.

Bass players are guitarist that didn't make the cut :D

I prefer to think of it as bass players avoiding the evolution into eccentric egotistical attention whoring frontmen with two extra strings that think they're god's gift to the opposite sex and everyone else.

BTW- this is why good drummers are so hard to find. Nobody can stand them practicing.

Then there is the bass players that get all pissy because of that, buying two extra strings and insist to slap every note like they are effing Claypool.

Yep, doesn't matter what instrument they play, the attitudinal ones are always a pain. Good thing most of the attitudinal players are frontmen ;)

I would go with bass but that's because I have a terrible sense of rhythm. Hopefully learning bass would help counteract that.
