Electric Duster...any good?

Yes, I have the 500 model at work. It is excellent, but (1) it is noisy, and (2) it is VERY powerful - it ripped some wires out of the sockets the first time I used it (fan plugs), so you have to be very careful about using it. It's basically like canned air times ten.

Worth the money if you use canned air a lot

and no bitter shit!

Thanks, judging by the video it looks like it does move more air than I suspected. I didn't think 70 cfm was very much. I don't really need a vac so think I'll go with the ED500

CFM probably isn't a good measure for this sort of thing...its the pressure that it can put out that dislodges everything. But you can look at the CFM and think how many cans of compressed air that would be. How many cubic feet can they cram into a can anyway?

You won't be disappointed, the ED500 is basically the perfect tool for the job. Everything else like the metro vac or a shop vac set to blow will be behind it somewhere and all of them are better than $7 cans of air.

Decided to do some napkin math...figuring a typical "10oz" can of compressed air contains about .05 cubic feet of air (If the volume of the can were .01 cubic feet and pressurized to 70 PSI).

Now who wants to guess how long that would last if you dispelled it at 70CFM?

I just fire up the compressor and blast away the dust. Of course, I neither keep nor use the compressor in the house. 😉

Just under 43 milliseconds?

I'm guessing the size and volume of the can, and the pressure it's compressed to...but even if my numbers were way off they must discharge very slowly to last at all. I've never bought a can of compressed air...and can barely ever recall using one.

I used them sparingly only for my PC. I used to get a 4 pack for under $10 but today went to BB today and they were $9.99 for 2...screw that, they don't last long enough for that price. It is a wonder that people buy them though, I just never thought an electric one would put out enough air without spending a fortune for a huge vac.

I wish I looked into one of these a long time ago, it's got a lot of good reviews.
