I got a ton of random shit for Christmas that I did not need or want, an electric blanked being one of those items. Ever since this arctic blast made the temps plunge into the mid 40s to lower 50s or so I have been freezing my ass off in my apartment even though my thermostat is set to 69 (oh yeah) degrees--my apartment has terrible insulation and feels more like ~60. I decided to try out the electric blanket and man is this thing awesome. For several nights in a row I've accidentally fallen asleep on my sofa under the warmth of this thing, and at least one of those nights have woken up sweaty. Honestly, I don't know how I survived without an electric blanket; I guess whoever bought the gift knows me more than I know myself.

Electric blankets are nice. Heated mattress pads are almost as good as sex.

I'm going to have to research these. My bed is always cold AF during the winter when I first lay down on it or move to a new position.

Yup, we have one of those too.... Definitely awesome when you want to get in bed, but you know the bed will be negative 20 degrees.. Pop that sucker on while you're getting ready for bed and it's good to go.

This year though I'll be honest, it hasn't been cold enough consistently for me to really want to use it.

Cold beds are the best. Makes it feel all that much better when they get warmed up.

Have you tried an heated mattress pad?
No, only a heated blanket. Used to turn it on a 1/2 hour b/4 bed and then shut it off - it was very nice. Wife left it on all night, but that was too hot for me.

We had an electric blanket catch on fire in the middle of the night. I was dreaming that my feet werre on fire...woke up just in time to see <poof> a glow of flames at my feet.

Since then, we ‘ve had two electeic mattress pads, (which are MUCH nicer) but both separated after a few months,(inner covering from outer covering, leaving the heating wires exposed) and were returned under warranty. Still looking for a better made electric mattress pad.

Electric blanket on the bed (2 zone) and heated throw on the sofa to keep the dogs warm.

When I napped with the cats, I would crank up the temperature on my wife’s side of the bed so I’d have room on my side.

I don't know, how do you turn over? :tonguewink:

Like a beached whale...But I don’t have flannel sheets AND flannel pajamas...nice, soft 100% cotton sateen sheets for me...(and NO pajamas) I didn’t know adult men even wore pajamas...I stopped wearing those at about age 10.

Haha really? I wear pajamas all the time and I will never stop wearing them. I think I have about six pairs of them.
