Bush needs Ohio and Florida. Guess what... a brand new legal crapstorm has already been summoned in the latter over a million disenfranchised voters, or something. Year 2000, here we come.

who's bringing it on? and in what state?

ACLU in FL.

1 Million votes? You got to be kidding me.

So, if Bush takes Fl (likely), OH (likely), Colorado and NM, that will put him at 271, right?

Bush does not need NM. He just needs FL and OH. FL is a sure thing.

If he doesn't get NM and everything stands he will be at 266 and lose.

Bush takes OH, FL, CO, AND NM= 274

Kerry takes WI, MI, MN, NV, NH= 264

If NM flops sides, 269 to 269 :)

if its 269 to 269 ...bush wins

More like a month of recounting = we all loose :(

electoral vote goes 269-269
first time since John Quincy Adams that the House decides the president...also the time that the son of a former president was running for reelection...Adams won against Andrew Jackson.

Is anyone else surprised that Bush is leading the popular vote by 2.5M. I know Cali still has a ways to go, but I thought the popular vote would be a lot closer at this juncture.

That's true but given those states, OH has a higher probabiliy to flip than the others. Political views in a given region don't change overnight. I'm confident the 49 states other than OH will go the same way it did in 2000. OH is a toss up. I would love to be proven wrong.

Well, look at the bright side. If Bush wins, he'll be out in four years. That is good news... right?

Kerry back in it in OH ??

74% in and Bush's lead has gone from 4% to 2% (51-49).

It is OVER. The trends that were supposed to break towards Kerry have moved to Bush. I don't think Ohio breaks the trend that Florida has set. It wasn't even close in Florida, I mean 5% advantage to Bush when it was projected to be neck and neck. At the end of day, people obviously felt safer under Bush. I hope the Democrats do not make this a legal battle in Ohio and respecfully bow out. We will get another chance in 08 and made this race a lot closer than it should have been. The Demcratic Party needs to learn from the RNC on how to run a cohesive, combatitive campaign and to NEVER waver on the issues.

Has a president ever lost reelection and came back to win a 2nd term later?

No way he'd get the party nomination if he lost.

Just like there's no chance in hell they'll run Kerry again.

There is still a ways to go in Milwaukee County. Kerry will probably start to pull away some.

Again, Hamilton County is behind in it's reporting and it is a Republican stronghold.
