If Bush has a 250K or 300K lead in Florida, the absentee ballots will not make a difference. With 77% of the precints reporting, Bush is up by 5%. Looks like Bush is going to take Florida, and probably the election as well......

Osceola and Orange (which includes Orlando) went for Gore in 2000, but it looks like they will be going for Bush in 2004 by a slim margin.

OTOH, I'm looking at a map of the 2000 election, and Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties all went for Gore then. Palm Beach and Dade still have just over 50% of precincts reporting, and so far Kerry is leading by a significant margin in these 2 counties.

I've heard that when the early voting and absentee ballots are counted, the early voting ballots will favor Kerry while the absentee ballots will favor Bush.

I think Florida is still in the 'too close to call' category..

This is outright WRONG! Your talking about huge numbers of absentee ballots that won't be counted possibly for days.
Absentee ballots are a lot of military votes, which is Bush territory. It's estimated the absentees in Florida will be in Bush's favor 2-1. No matter what happens down south (Broward and Dade) it doesn't appear that Kerry is going to garner enough votes to take Florida. If Kerry loses Florida, turn out the lights, the party's over.

I grew up in the Lucas County area. Always been a tough nut to crack on which way they lean. Lots of Union folks up there.

I believe so. I heard that Maine was giving 3 to Kerry, but 1 was still up for grabs.

The point is that the military absentee ballots may mostly ALREADY BE COUNTED.
