People are going to read way too much into this. These are local politics with local issues at hand, not national ones. The election to watch is the 2010 congressional and senatorial races.

What is more of a "local issue" than the fight for states rights?
What is more of a "local issue" than the federal government over-stepping its power?
What is more of a "local issue" than the 10th Amendment?

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

No, not really. National issues are a whole different beast than local issues. The 2010 elections are a much better litmus test for Republicans than these local elections.

if dissatisfaction with the national democratic party led to democrats staying home and increased independent/GOP turn-out, it's something that the dems should be worried about.

While MSNBC is completely ignoring election results on their Election Night Special, I notice that the reporters actually covering the election results on FOX are uber cute. I stop flipping channels and decide to stick to getting the election results on FOX.

Before I switch off MSNBC, I see that Olbermann is now covering Jackie Robinson and baseball action in the World Series of the 1950's and 1960's. This is so surreal that I am going to flip back to watch the meltdown there later.

looks like Christie won by 4 points in NJ... wonder if it would have been 10 if Daggett wasn't in the race.

if it was so meaningless, why did OBAMA campaign so heavily for corzine?

and why were there so many ads in VA that showed so much obama (not to mention him dragging around the schmucks to all the campaign stops) that an average viewer may have been hard pressed to identify the actual candidate.

Not surprised about the VA results, somewhat surprised it was announced so early and such a crushing defeat.

somewhat surprised about NJ, and even a decent magnitude there. looks like the NY race gonna take some time to figure at the current margin.

on true numbers those red/blue maps for most locals are meaningless given the few percentage points that general separate them, but seeing the shift today for the NJ vote I'm sure will have a bunch of heads talking.

Time to marginalize the liberal posters on these boards who have fallen for the Obama mystique hook, line, and sinker. The people have spoken and will speak even louder in 2010. Their inept messiah is failing to deliver on his promises and is going to sink this country into an even greater depression with the massive inflation that is sure to come.

Let me set the record straight about NJ. If anyone thinks for one second this has anything to do with Obama you are completely clueless. My household voted Christie because Corzine was just terrible. Nothing to do with Obama, healthcare, big spending, or etc. Corzine was just not very good. There has been many polls that have shown that here in NJ we didn't like either one, but Christie was just disliked less. If Christie does no better, then guess what's going to happen next election, he'll go the way of Corzine. We are just tired of being screwed by our State Government. When Obama runs in 2012, he'll carry Jersey just as big. I don't know about VA, but here in Jersey, this had nothing to do with Obama.

Bullshit! Obama campaigned for this guy until the end and he still lost. It speaks volumes about Obama and his socialistic agenda being rejected by the people. What is even more sad is you idiots who voted for Obama could not see this. His past associations and utter lack of experience made no difference to these liberal posters on this board who were so blinded by the messiah's charisma. You all are just plain too stupid to see Obama is and will be a failure.

no, I think it's pretty safe to say that Obama will likely carry NJ in 2012 and Menendez will likely keep his senate seat in 2010.

who knows if someone will prop up Lautenberg's corpse to run in 2012. his election is the biggest embarrassment to this state there is, imo.

lol, are you really that stupid? Hoff was the only Conservative running. The (R) candidate was a liberal and the other one was a (D). The only thing that was lost was the (R) in the seat. The D and R people were basically the same - just different parties.

So because you have no moderates in your party its now smaller then before...Yes I know "I'm stupid" I laugh in your face cad...in your face

404: Socialist agenda not found.

And as another poster pointed out: your sig is retarded. You want to see lying and the economy collapsing, you need look no further than the last President, who left a steaming turd on the front lawn of America for the next person to clean up.
