Well, he's certainly DIFFERENT from a lot of the other right-wingers here. Rather than simply ranting and raving about everyone hating America, he actually tries to make arguments and back them up with logic and facts. Needless to say, I disagree with a lot of what he says, but at least I respect his ability to make an argument that doesn't involve the word "traitor" every other sentence. Frankly I'm not sure why anyone needs to pick anyone to flame, but at least if lefties want to flame someone, folks like Pabster make excellent targets...no need to bash ProfJohn just because you disagree with him.

Yeah, because I always use the word "traitor"

You're just another liberal who can't stand dissent against your agenda.

Uh, didn't I just say I admire ProfJohn for "dissenting against my agenda" in an intelligent way? Perhaps I missed all those posts where he agreed with me, but I can't seem to find very many of them...yet for some reason I can "stand" his form of dissent.

But you're right, you don't always use the word "traitor" itself...but it's the same idea, very few of your posts involve anything more intelligent than some one line jab at the other side (like, for example, "You're just another liberal who can't stand dissent against your agenda"). Which is great, as far as that goes, my "side" has its fair share of that as well...I'm just saying that if lefties are looking for someone to attack, they should go for the guy who's already busy attacking everyone else, NOT the guy who's trying to have a reasonable, intelligent discussion here.

I have no objections to people to disagree with me (or my mysterious "agenda"), I object to people who use the Ann Coulter approach to do so.

You should know better than to listen to Pabster the partisan hack.

I predict Republicans will lose a few seats here and there but maintain majority in both houses or perhaps split the senate down the middle.

And no, evangelicals are not staying at home feeling disenfranchised. The liberal media's "let's shove gay issues down your throat" 24/7 news coverage only makes evangelicals more charged up, and while many may not enjoy voting republican or independent, the majority are unlikely to vote democrat.

edit: poorly worded sentence

The Reps lose 12 House seats and retain control 220-215.

The Reps lose 4 Senate seats and retain control 51-49.

Hopefully that create a little more gridlock.

Gridlock is good.

Yes, hating gays does tend to bring out the evangelicals.

I think there is very little doubt that there will be a huge swing in the House. I think the Republicans will be under by 15-20 seats.

The Senate is a differnt story, I think it will be 51-49 for the Repubs, it will be very close... I can see tons of re-counts etc. across the battleground states of VA,MO,TN

It's working out perfectly. Predict and show democrats may take hold of the house....

Well, that just means the republicans will come out in droves and vote. It's playing perfectly. Just like 2000, 2002, 2004 and most likely once again in 2006.

Exactly. Karl Rove said today the GOP has made more phone calls and knocked on more doors than they did in 2004. The ground game is even more well organized and massive this year. And none of the polls can possibly factor that in.

If people base their vote on who phoned them or who knocked on their door, they DESERVE everything bad that happens to them and their country.

It doesnt really matter if the democrats get a majority in the House.

A good deal of the dems winning vs incumbent repubs are CONSERVATIVE democrats. Or what I'd call a moderate, which is why they are being elected.

They arent being elected because the are democrats, they are being elected because they arent to far to the right, and arent to far to the left.

So sad

Figures for Georgia

10-27-2006 Georgia May Keep House for GOP

Republicans furiously working to counter expected losses in this year's elections are focusing on friendly territory in Georgia.

Playing defense elsewhere, GOP strategists have identified just four House seats nationwide where they say they have a good chance of knocking off Democrats.

Two are in Georgia, where the party hopes a strong state ticket and new, Republican-drawn congressional districts can help them hold a majority in Washington.

Politics is a nasty business all around.

I predict : Republicans maintain majority in both Senate and House, but a much narrower lead than previously. Moderate republicans will rapidly distance themselves from the slime oozing from the white house in order to re-connect with their conservative base, and to rally for a 2008 Republican victory.

Someone said : gridlock is good.

SO TRUE.

For the most part, a strong movement either left or right leads only to bigger government, more problems, more debt.

I think Dems win House, tie in the Senate. However, I am not really worried if they don't because it will guarantee a Dem sweep in 2008. Iraq isn't going anywhere. Afghanistan is falling apart as well. Plus nothing will change in terms of the culture of corruption if GOP retains house, so that will still be an issue in 2008. GOP can't govern, so eventually the bums will be out eventually. But I think most likely it will be this year. GOP incumbents are polling under 50% in a lot of places, which is good news for Dems.

Dems win the house, by a few seats. Not a ton. Senate, tie or republicans by 1. I think Allen will carry the racist vote enough in VA to eek it out over Webb, but Ford will win TN.

edit: And Santorum will lose by quite a bit in PA. Thankfully. No more gay marriage => beastiality bs.

that kinda has me confused... I live in NJ. it's barely getting any coverage hear (at least no moreso than any other local issue). is it getting 24/7 coverage everywhere else in the country except around the only people it actually affects?

Is Bill Clinton running ads for anyone? I think he needs to run an ad for Menendez just to bury Kean once and for all. An Maryland of course as well, since Clinton is a star in the African American community. Dems need to use Clinton in blue states.

Oh, I think something will change. Don't know if it'll be the House, or Senate, or both.

But the Repubs have been in power for a long time. The worm always turns, it's just a matter of when. Given the amount time it's been in the Repubs favor, and the level of angst - I think the time is now.

Clinton isn't needed in Maryland.
Cardin has enough advantage and will win regardless.

I don't understand what Democrats are doing in New Jersey.
They will lose that seat if they aren't careful.

I think they can run fewer Clinton ads in Maryland because they would be so effective. They can shift the savings to other races.
New Jersey, I think Menendez will pull it off, but I think Clinton would seal the deal. Even Republicans who were trying to impeach Clinton are dropping his name to cozy up to voters.
