Elder Scrolls: Oblivion or World of Warcraft?

It looks like I will have a bit of free time this summer, and I am currently debating which game to install and immerse myself in for awhile.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion
- have read/heard very positive reviews
- no monthly subscription fee

WoW
- can play with husband
- interaction with other players

Which is more addictive, and which would be better for a normally non-gamer to embark upon?

Warcraft might be easier to get into as a non-gamer. Morrowing I think is an overall better game, but then you also need a better system to play and have to be a little more dedicated, although some of the new features makes it really easy (like the little arrow thingy telling you where you have to go).

I think you answered your own question - If you would rather play a game that you can play with your hubby and interact with others then WoW. If that's not as important, I'd suggest Oblivion.

If you like playing w/ yourself, Oblivion. If you like to piss other people off, WoW.

Oblivion is good, but it's limited... you'll probaby be done in about a hundred hrs or less. It's also singleplayer.

Have you ever played an MMO before? I'm not a big fan of WoW, but if you're hubby is already playing it, that may be a good incentive. But then, if you're going to be holding him back, he may not like it!

Or you can do what my plans are... to spend the summer flaming people on ATOT.

Oblivion, definitely. I'm sure you can find more entertaining ways to play with your husband than WoW.

He is level 40+, I would be level 1. He has offered to help me on quests, although I'd imagine it would be incredibly boring for him to do so.

You have very ambitious summer plans. ;)

my vote would be for Warcraft :) your husband could start a new character and you could level up together.

40th level isn't very high... and i doubt he has any serious commited raid plans. So it may work. Just don't have him powerlevel you... you both will get bored with it quick. Have him reroll another character with you, and you both start at level 1.

If you've never played an MMO before though, i say give it a shot. Quite an experience. Although i'm not too sure about WoW as a first MMO... well, that's a personal opinion... obviously millions of people didn't have a problem with it.

Warcraft = more addictive (will take over your life and become a chore to sit there on your ass and do dungeons and grind all day).
Oblivion = not too addictive, extremely fun, won't take over your life, doesn't look like a 5 year old game, etc.

Oblivion > World Of WarCrack

Come to think about it, I have the exact same decision to make a few hours ago, I went with WoW because I got some friends playin it.
