Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for PC $37.99 at SoCal Fry's

Great price. Too bad no frys in new england 🙁

I can't wait to get hold of this. It has been such a long time since I finished all the expansion packs from Morrowind. I just hope my rig will run Oblivion without buying more hardware. (A64 3700 Venice / 2GB PC3200 2-3-2-5 1t / BFG 6800 GT OC 256MB).

Tell me about it. I would kill for one in Madison or Milwaukee. Chicago's not a terrible drive but the $2.50/gallon for gas is a deal breaker.

No Fry's in Milwaukee area, but I'll be moving to Tucson in June!

There are at least Fry's in Phoenix area - so I can go when I visit my Dad.

That's why I moved from MA to CA. j/k But seriously, you'll be fine w/ those specs. I'm currently using a X800XL w/ the below rig and I'm doing fine.
 
I wasn't into RPG, coming from FPS games, but I seriously enjoyed KotOR 1 & 2, so I think I'll expand my "genre" horizon and try this game.

Fry's is continuing their march Eastward, so I'm sure they'll make it to the Right Coast eventually.
 
$39.99 @ CC and $49.99 @BB. With Price Matching, the new cost should be in-line with that of Fry's (for those who whine about w/o a Fry's store near-by) 😉
Speaking of whiner, well there is a real price to pay for (if you know what I mean), for having these stores within a short striking distance like myself. You may end up buying stuffs you do not even need. :disgust:

BB = 7 minutes
ComUSSR = 6 minutes
OD & OM = 6 minutes
Micro Center = 8 minutes
Costco = 7 minutes

Well Fry's is here in Georgia already, and technically we have some coastline somewhere. It's just way easier for me to get to a Circuit City. I got the last copy the closest one to me had Tuesday night. I'm happy.

I was waiting for Oblivion and benchmarks before upgrading so I'm using my trusty old X800XL right now. And I haven't seen any benchmarks yet other than one guy saying his X1900XT give hims 10-25fps more than his 7800GTX.

The game auto-detected high settings but at 1280x1024. So, I switched the res to 1920x1200. It's bogged down a little bit but for the most part fine. Next time I play, I will turn Bloom off and see how it performs.

You forgot to mention that not only are you within those times for those stores, but in many cases, there are multiples of those stores within 5 additional minutes of those times. There are, for example, at least 3 CCs, 3 BBs, 2 OMs, 2 Costcos and 2 CompUSAs within 12 min of the 190/75 intersection, depending on time of day and your driving habits, naturally. 😉

This is a great price for the game! But I've noticed that the Austin,TX Fry's is not cheap on everything. The Austin store has some good motherboard combos from time to time, but their video card prices are jacked up through the roof! Some of the cards, you can get $50-$100 cheaper at Newegg. Same card, same brand.
