I hope it takes the best parts of Oblivion and Skyrim to make a really grand game. Not interested in radiant quests or settlement building.

Its in pre-production, which means nothing has been made yet, they probably still have to recruit the team.
I believe they mentioned somewhere awhile ago that they were waiting to make TES 6 until they could put it on a new engine. I don't have a quote for that, so no need to believe me, but I'm pretty sure it'll be a new engine. With that said, it's Bethesda, so except bugs and quirks.I'm more interested in the technical stuff, is this the same engine (so the same wonky quirks of previous ES games?) or finally a new one?
This exactly. I'm positive the only reason we got a teaser is so that Todd Howard didn't get murdered in his sleep after announcing Skyrim mobile. How do you meme the current state of skyrim with an Alexa bit at the beginning, and then actually announce skyrim mobile? I'd be more hyped to play skyrim on an alexa than I am to play it on mobile.This. There is literally no reason to be excited. Starfield is coming first on the next gen so even if it’s a launch title it’s going to be at least 2 years before it goes into production. At the absolute earliest you are not going to see ESVI for another 4-5 years. The only reason they announced it so early was so fans would know they were still committed to the series, because the series is skipping this console generation. That’s it.
If I have to collect ~64 Crimson Nirnroot again, someone is going to get murdered.
Hearing that it's supposed to be a new engine, I just hope modding is still provided. Without modding ES games... suck.Given they will most assuredly use the same engine, you will be able to hit tilde for the console and add them to your inventory. No problem.
In fact for Skyrim I downloaded a mod that gives me all fetch quest items as soon as I walked into Riften. Theres 3 plants for the alchemy student, a bunch of frost teeth for the grocer, several gems for the jeweler, fire salts for the smith, and a couple others I cant recall.

I think so too: https://arstechnica.com/civis/viewtopic.php?p=35485057#p35485057Gopher (the YT guy) said "we think it's Hammerfell". I'm assuming he discussed it with others in the community.

IIRC, that's been the long-going assumption with all of the TES community geeks for the next installment. I think it's the only homeworld left in the series? Or do the cat people count as an actual race/homeworld that is worth exploring?
