Elbow popping.

So I'm doing french press exercises to work my triceps like this:

On the upswing everything is fine, on the downswing my elbow pops everytime now. This just started today. I lowered the weight to almost nothing compared to what I usually do and it still pops. If I do the motion with no weight at all I hear/feel no popping.

There is no pain at all no matter the weight just this popping sound and strange feeling like knuckle popping. Just my left elbow not my right. I'm right arm dominant but always work both arms the same.

So should I be concerned and stop doing this exercise or ignore it and work through it anyway?

I do skull crushers on an incline with one of the curl bars. Very little pressure on the elbow.

Happens pretty much all the time. I stopped doing the exercises that cause it, after one time I apparently worked it too hard and it caused soreness.

It's a weird problem... wonder what's wrong with us. Googling "elbow popping" brings up people with the same issue...

Could be carpal tunnel related. I spend a lot of time on the computer, and it's my right (mouse side) elbow.

It's likely not carpal tunnel related. Carpal tunnel-related issues typically cause wrist pain in addition to pain, numbness, tingling, or burning into the hand. It also doesn't usually cause a popping sensation. It could be a variety of things but the most likely explanation is the triceps tendon snapping over the olecranon or other bony prominences. Some basic triceps stretches and some soft tissue work (massage) of the triceps could help with that.
