EK Supreme on a Gigabyte UD3R?

This will fit: this will not. I've had the LT with prior plans with an i7 luckily and now I'll have to use it with this UD3R. I already have it place in pre-planning for my loop. Thought the UD3R would of been a drop in but I have some minor work and cutting to do; all is good seeing the D0 i7's are doing really well on low volts - 4ghz on air @ 1.184v I've seen over in the XS forums.... stay tuned for build progress pics.

I've tried to orient it a different way and it still hits the NB heatsink. Actually the first orientation hits the mosfet or power phase cooler which ever it is. Cutting the backplate seems more of a hassle as the universal plate seems too thick for a smooth clean cut.

First orientation, Second pre-plan attempt, Happyness! I also decided to omit the 90's before and after the block. 45's aren't much better but make for a nice new look and also keep up the psi.

Dremels make life soooo much easier. If you don't have one alread, pick up the Flexshaft attachment - can make a world of difference.

Thanks! 100$ well spent! I picked up one from our local Home Depot; Dremel 400XPR and I almost picked up the flexshaft while I was at it but I didn't want to go over the 100$ mark. I was hesitant at first cause I was just borrowing my brothers angle grinder used for cutting huge cast iron pipes etc and I thought; how often am I going to use this, but this really is a great investment and I am looking now at getting back to cutting into my PC-60 which I originally had plans for with my Gigabyte board. Maybe I'll save my MIIF board and just play with a dual core on it since they suck for quad cores. 480fsb was my highest stable front side bus on it. But, yay, back to my hobby whenever I want! 🙂

Actually I bought an EK S with one of those plates off the FS forums here and just never used it. It was a used EK with that bracket, but after I bought it I started thinking about it and I never really got around to cleaning it to avoid algae build-up in my loop. I still have it and am about to sell it.

I think the LT is working better. I have it mounted the same way as the EK Supreme and I am getting readings of 27* c at stock speeds on my UD3R. Although I do have a different inlet and outlet configuration with 45* angles instead of the two 90's I had before and after the holes.
 
I got it all hooked up and running 😀

The bleeding process was a breeze this time.

The EK Lite fits on the UD3R board and I do have the 775 backplate in conjunction with the setup. The only thing I don't like is the space the backplate takes up making it a real pain in the ass to get the bolts screwed down cause of the spring pre-pressure.

Have you seen the bench pics? The EK LT is lookin sweet with the 45's

I was about to say in the future I might buy one of those backplates but it looks like the D0's are hitting 4Ghz @ 1.18vcore on air!!! :shocked:

That just makes my credit debt go up ... again 🙁

Yup, I know that feeling. There is just so much that I want to buy - take a gander at my thread in general hardware and you will see what I mean. It will be a kick ass rig once I've finished though 😀
