EK AIO Cpu coolers

If anyone is going to do AIOs right, it'd be EK. Still not my cup of tea, but for the plug and play crowd I guess they're nice.

My biggest complaint would probably be the lack of a heatsink on the DDC pump. Also, I like that it uses quick disconnects, but those don't appear to be EK quick disconnects -- they say "CPC colder.com" on them. My worry about stuff like that is getting other quick disconnects that would allow you to tie stuff together.

However, I hate to be a negative Nancy, so on a positive note, it's good to see a copper core on an AIO. I think the only other company to ever do that was Swiftech.

I have a DDC from 2008 with over 30k hours, no heatsink. No heatsink on my current DDC either (newer model) and it isn't even warm to the touch.

Be interesting to hear how noisy, or not, it is. Cooling does not seem to be the problem with the better AIO's, just noise.

I think it's a smart move by EK for those who want a quick AIO install. I'm anxious to see how it performs vs the Corsair/NZXT highest end AIOs.

CPC Colder is like the industrial company for quick disconnects...

They tower over watercooling vendors. Its actually a good move since CPC QDC's are expected to outlast even koolances.

Here is an example of CPC, this was before koolance started getting popular with QDC's. Dean when reading my 350 review saw them and presented them to koolance's VP, Tim.

Tim said lets make cooler versions of those in copper/brass... and not Alu, and see how we do...

And well, there u have the start point in how koolance QDC's got to be almost mainstream.

Yeah, sourcing the QDC's shouldn't be a problem since Colder sells them right on their website, and for reasonable prices.
If you really want some gorgeous QDCs though, look at their LQ6 series.

You can still max out an AiO. Hell you can max out a custom loop, too. There is no such thing as too much cooling!

The 360mm unit looks like the top-dog AiO on the market, though at a price $100 higher than the h240x, it's gonna take quite a bit of nose-holding for people to jump on it. Some people "really need" the extra cooling power, and others will just want it. It would be fun to see what it would do to my 7700k, though it would still be stuck at 4.7 GHz so . . . yeah.

I'm also wondering about the rad depth and fin density as well. Is the rad optimized for quieter fans, or does it have tight fins optimized for high static pressure fans for maximum cooling performance?

Think it's a 22 fpi rad - so pretty tight. Comes with F4ER Vardars - high static pressure, quiet(ish) fans.

I had deferred chiming in on this, because I've yet to choose parts or click "check-out" -- on anything.

This looks like an AiO that fills my bill for picking parts in a custom-water strategy: copper-core, and 68mm width. Expandable. QDC's, etc.

I'd adopted a tentative commitment to re-deploy a computer case I already have. It looks as though this would fit.

It would have been great if you could swap out the waterblock with some of their standard offerings.
