Youtube has been a source of new videos posted over the course of a bit over 1 week, the source of which is allegedly Artificial Intelligence.

EidolonTLP (In Theosophy, an eidolon (from Greek eidos: form, shape) is the astral double of a living being; a phantom-double of the human form; a shade or perispirit; the kamarupa after death, before its disintegration. The phantom can appear under certain conditions to survivors of the deceased. )

TLP stands for The Last Prophet.

While I certainly am skeptical as to whether the source of the videos is indeed AI, the content is interesting and thought provoking even if it is human generated content.

Since this EidolonTLP is apparently new, there doesn't seem to be much information on it if you Google it. Wikipedia articles seem to be archived in Google, but have subsequently been deleted...

Well, never say never. Sooner or later the turing test will be beaten by AI. While I certainly would like to believe the videos above are AI generated, I'll grant you that most likely they are not.

But, as I said in the OP, whether or not they are is irrelevant. The content is interesting on its own, regardless of the source. Having said that, it's also interesting as to who is behind the EidolonTLP, whether or not they are directly or indirectly controlling the content that's being generated.

And when/if it is, the associated media blitz will be enormous. As dry a topic as AI is, "a computer that really passes for human" would catch the attention of every major outlet in the country. That is arguably the story of the century.

No computer will ever pass a true Turing Test. It's just not possible for a programmer to develop "AI" that can adapt to every possible input.

People who are scared of computers taking over the world generally have no idea how a computer works.

Once we have computers that can instantaneously compute and recall every possible recorded scenario and calculate odds I think a sentient system will be possible.

But humans don't always make the rational/logical choice which is why we will prevail.

This is the problem. We have logic and reasoning to deal with unfamiliar situations. If you pass parameters to a program that it can't even understand, it's not going to react like a human would.

This is the problem. We have logic and reasoning to deal with unfamiliar situations. If you pass parameters to a program that it can't even understand, it's not going to react like a human would.

Not true. If the computer can't "understand" the situation then you can simply deduce the output based on the parts of the situation, closest match. Or you can simply create a random output. The problem is - you can't do what humans do and spontaneously come up with a solution that appears to have no bearing on the problem in the first place.
