One of my friends seems to have tried a lot of these services. She said Eharmony didn't work well with her because they'd match her instead of letter her and others seek each other out.

Can you explain what this means? I read it a few times and I'm still lost.

I found my gf on Yahoo Personals. I've been with her for over 3 years and she is the sweetest girl I've ever known.
That said, I had to sift through a lot of psychos, divorcees, women with personality issues, baggage etc and it took me over a year to find a great gal.
Eharmony might work for some people but someone needs to slap that annoying silver haired guy with the shiny suit.

What's wrong with divorcees? My wife was a divorcee and had a kid.

Most women are leftovers. Would you rather have a woman that's been with one guy for several years or a woman who's been with many men over the past year?

Match.com is being sued for hiring women to string men along to keep them subscribing to the service. I wouldn't be surprised if eHarmony did the same thing, but I have no proof.

I was reading a thread at another forum about how a large number of people weren't compatible with their matching system, so I filled out a profile out of curiousity. No matches at first, but eventually some did show up. They were all hideous, with the exception of one girl, who insisted we talk over eharmony's communication system instead of IM (which would require me to pay the $50/mo or whatever it costs).

That's why I suspect they use paid "dates" too.

A friend of mine used a dating service for a while after he and his wife divorced. I don't think it was eharmony but it was one of the more expensive services. He said it was a pussy service. He got laid more times through that service than he ever did on his own by going out to meet women. I met one of the women he met through that service and she was definitely hot! She was a little nuts though. Ironically, he met his current wife through that chick. Hehehe.

Need to know the name of the service please....I can't get a date at all through the services im on. 🙁
Or its probably my profile sucks. I need to look at a good example of a profile, if someone has one that gets a lot of hits let me see it please. 😀

Okay, I emailed him. It was called Great Expectations. This was in Los Angeles though and this was a few years ago. It also wasn't cheap. I think it cost him over $1000 to do his profile and then start getting the pictures/profiles of interested women.

i don't see what the big deal is. lots of people don't have time or have other things that prevent them from going out to bars, clubs, etc. and such to meet people. this lets them do it from the convenience of home.
If you don't have time to go to the bar or a club, how do you have time for a committed relationship?

I went to a great expectations office in my local town. I felt llike they were trying to sell me a car. It's still that expensive as of this past summer.

If the price wasn't outragous along with the 2 yr committment they wanted then fine but it just made no financial sense for me to do this.
