325/700 was the stock speed it came with. That worked fine. No artifacts.

Rhagz,

yours came at 325/700, which is same as mine too. Is yours still at LE-GT 1.5V?
Cos none of the 1.4V works for me. Can't even get it to work properly at 325/1100 without showing artifact.

Did you try 1.4? Please help me out here. If I don't have to RMA, I won't.

I have the same problem as you with artifacts as mine was a 324 / 700 thta had no artifacts at stock but since I flashed to any bios I have artifacts everwere. I now have the stock bios in and it will run at the 325 / 1110 but have little white boxes everwere and even in 3D mark 2001.

I am going to call them for a RMA as nothing helps this card and I do not want white boxes in my gaming screens.

If they made it 325/700 , must have been a reason for that, right? Nothing stange about getting glitches when you o/c it by almost twice i.e. 1100..

Did some flashing last night using aonic's flash program and received warnings that certain files did not match bla bla bla. Of course, I flashed anyway  The Ultra 1.4 bios loads 428/1180 for me so I tried the old 1.4 LE-GT and it also went straight to 425/1180.

EDIT:

Tried flashing bios using both nvflash and wfflash and both error out when trying to flash to Thugs new bios files: LE-GT14.rom and LE-U14.rom

Currently running down clocked bios from aonic's disk.

Any ideas??

I did GT1.4v first, but my memory wouldnt pass the coolbits test over 1084, so i went to 1.5 to give it more power, it would pass at 1100 then. Core speeds would pass up to 440 with both bioses though. Coolbits and RT tests are pretty unreliable though, so I used PowerStrip (great program, but use at your own risk) to manually set the memory higher without testing, and found I was able to run up to 1140 or so artifact free.

That's what I was thinking too. There's gotta be a reason some come at 1100 some at 700. Why would they take the time and effort to further gimp their cards if there wasn't a reason (ie if they could all run 1100 fine) ?

So apparently some batches might be worse than others that they had to clock it at 325/700.
Why send something defective???

Bah, by the time they ship the working card, the shipping costs would already pay for a GT.

I tried all bios including original eVGA 325/1100 bios - no good. Artifacts too. Which led me to believe that
some cards are really bad. I am happy if it can run 325/1100. But only runs at 325/700?? RMA needed.

Did yours have any artifacts at the initial GT1.4v? Pretty sure's mine's a defective card like some of us have.

No, no artifacts at all. The only time i get artifacts is when I push the memory up to 1150 or higher.. it starts off with just a few, and the higher the mem speed, the worse they get. I think part of my problem is a crappy psu, but I am happy with it where it is. Actually I found my 3dmark scores go down when pushing the mem clock higher..

What's your specs and especially PSU? I want to double check if my PSU would be causing the problem.
My PSU is 450W, with 18A on the 12v. 1 separate line to the card, and another has floppy on it.

Here's mine:
- AXP 2100+ @ 2600+
- 768MB PC3000
- 450W PSU with 18A on 12v
- Asus nForce2
- 2x 40GB Hitachi HDD
- 8X Nec 2501A DVD burner
- 16X Pioneer DVD
- Audigy 1
- 4 fans (2 with leds, 2 without)

I have a 400W cheapo from CompUSA.. one power line runs to the video card, then to the hard drive. The other power line runs to the video card then to the CD/DVD drive and the side panel case fan. It only has 2 lines :( I don't have much in my case, just 1 HDD, 1 Optical, 1 case fan.. and thats about it.

Oh, it has 16A on the 12v rail.

Hmmm, then PSU's not the problem. Cos I unplugged some of my components too, same artifacts.
And my PSU is slightly better than yours. You even split the power lines and still have no problem.

I guess RMA is in order. Sigh.... I thought your 325/700 works fine, I should've no problem too.
EQ2 coming out next week, I guess I will be stuck with my old card during release.

I just reran the lines to check something.. put one line to all the drives/fan. The video card is doubled up on the other line. I can't even get close to my normal clock speeds.. in fact coolbits and RT wont pass a test at ANY speeds.. even 325/700 fails. PowerStrip is also showing me a smaller green light, meaning that power is certainly an issure for SOME people, but certainly not all, as is your case.

Coolbits won't pass any of my test speeds unless it is close to 325/700. If I click optimized with the LE-GT bios, it doesn't need testing at 400/1100. But any underclocking will fail tests.

I can use powerstrip to clock it at any numbers, but all artifacts. Even 333/900 still artifact.

Just reran my power lines again. Similar setup to my first config. Video card/ one drive per line, with the fan on the Optical drive (since its not spinning, less power overall) and my tests pass at 440/1100 all day long. Power is absolutely an issue for some people, i think my test shows that. You however have a decent power supply you say.. have you check the volts with a program, or ideally a multimeter to verify it is doing what it should?

What brand is your PSU? If it is a cheapo like mine, it is possible that the 450W is overstated.. its not uncommon for this to happen.

How do you check the volts? What program?

PSU brand is Allied/Foxconn.

I will do one last rewire of power lines with my case fans unplugged tonight when I get back.
If that still don't solve it, must be a pure card problem.

Any idea if I could get your IM? Real time chat is definitely more help and immediate.

Curiosity for aonic and thugs
If the BFG Bios will work fine on these cards, wondering if the Gainward GT Bios would work ok on these cards? Im curious because teh Gainward and XFX GT cards both have dual DVI, this could allow people to use GT Bioses with DUAL DVI working..

just wondering, Im not all that knowledgeable about BIOS modification.

Thanks,
Dave

I dont have any IM programs installed heh.. would always get interrupted when playing EQ, so I took em all off and never reinstalled them :p

neither of us run dual dvi ~ so we cant test it.
we are looking to do more mods to the Ultra files so that we no longer need to offer the GT files. that will fix the prob ;)

What is the average score everyone is getting in stock setting 325/1100 in 3dmark2005? Mine is 4200 with no overclocking at all.

Why send something defective?-Here's simple question - not too many ppl would bother to check memory/GPU speeds, that's why. Those guys who was packing/cheking/putting in BIOS knew exactly what they were doing. I strongly beleive that this is scam, and eVga is behind it. Cards with 325/700 should be much cheaper than $340-350.
