Egg Foo Young is a Chinese inspired American dish. It's classically made with bean sprouts, spring onions and eggs in a round omelet patty and served with a brown sauce of soy sauce, rice wine and corn starch. As with a traditional omelet, the dish lends itself to having just about any ingredients you like added.
It's not "real" Chinese food, but is similar to many traditional Asian dishes, and has been adopted into the menu at many Chinese food restaurants both in America and Asia. I personally enjoy it on occasion, but find it's one of those dishes that can be easily butchered, despite it's relatively simple nature.
