Efficient ATOT surfing

I was wondering if anyone else does this.

If a thread is of interest, I open it as a new window and hit F5 every once in a while to see the new posts. Once I get sick of the thread, I simply close the window.

It works especially well during the day when posts occur frequently and threads of interest get moved from page to page all of the time.

If not, do you use a different technique?

I exit each thread and go back to the main page, seldom looking on any page but the first, and just click on links I'm either interested in, or have been in before and want to follow up on.

I frequently have 4 or more windows open. 1 window for main page like ATOT and then a few more with interesting threads.

Running 2 monitors is great for neffing. 😀

I just click on the off topic button. To lazy to reach my hand over to the keyboard untill I'm ready to actually type.

isnt everyone's page 1 different? you can have 200 topics on your first page and not have to go anywhere.

I was going to mention that as well.. Saying "it was on the 1st page" is meaningless.

Sometimes 4 or 5 windows open... otherwise I use the "my forums" button to look at previous threads and see if there's any I wanted to follow up on.

I like to use the My Forums button to keep tabs on the threads I responded to.

But yeah, I use multiple tabs for different threads using F5. Of course, my Firefox auto-refreshes every minute anyways. I'm not sure if its a plugin I forgot about or what.
