What are you looking for exactly and what setup do you have?

All of us silence fanatics only wish those specs were possible, but they aren't. siLenX's are quiet mind you, but they're specs are far from accurate. If you have ever used a Nexus 120mm (37cfm@23dBA@~1000rpm), this is the fan and specs to use as a reference fan to compare all other 120mm's.

Okay, very favorable review I'll admit. :) The price is a tad on the ouchie side however, at almost $30 bucks a pop for 120mm's.

The GlacialTechs can be had for ~$10 and they're excellent too. :D

DO NOT BUY SILENX. Ever. They pulled a lot of fraudulent activities at SPCR. No one there is willing to buy their products anymore.

The Nexus are good.

Alistair, SPCR's main web tech man, sent an email this morn:

Quote:
Hi Mike,

In today's thread http://forums.silentpcreview.com/viewtopic.php?t=4451 digitalix responded to our discussion of whether to buy the seasonic or nexus power supply in Vancouver (the 2 quiet ones available here) with: "I say just try the silenx, they don't charge that much for shipping to Canada, send em an email to find out." I thought that was a stark contrast to our thread and I immediately thought: Does this guy work for silenx?

I did a quick IP check and... discovered that digitalix is also using the aliases:

- methodman
- sammy
- exoticpc
- silenx

All users reporting different locations but all making posts from the same IP located near Burbank, CA.

Looking over posts from these "users", they actually post and reply to one another! (Like puppets!) The theme is very clear: buy silenx, don't buy exoticpc: "Well, can't blame them for being greedy capitalists" and "Oh well, I don't purchase from exotic, period, if that makes any difference, heh"
This is what led to the Open letter from Mr Chin...
Yuk! I believe this is extreme foul play and misuse of the SPCR forums.

Alistair.

After reviewing this information and the various posts by all the above "users", we decided to disable the accounts in question, except for silenx. Peter Kim appears to have been using the SPCR forums to boost sales for his company by pretending to be his own customer(s). The level of careful, systematic deception indicated is astonishing.

here is the letter...

The shameful behavior of Peter Kim is now plainly exposed. PK's actions are easily described as fraud and misrepresentation. Anyone persuaded by the zeal of PK's disguised aliases have a right to feel deceived.

This is especially unfortunate in light of the opportunity SPCR represents to those seeking business entry to the growing noise-aware PC market. With the concentration of technically savvy members, there are even opportunities here to pick up on viable ideas for successful new products.

Businesses in the PC industry have contributed to SPCR from the very first. Many company reps are known to visit, sometimes providing valuable assistance. Much behind-the-scenes information I bring to light comes from the good will of companies, whether small or large.

The point is simple: Businesses involved in PC components have always been welcome here ? but on open and honest terms, which until now, have been the norm.

We could impose a sentence on Peter Kim by blocking all of his IP addresses and keeping vigilant about new aliases. But policing is not what I am interested in for SPCR.

I simply ask that Peter Kim and his associates to do the right thing and bow to the wishes of the community:

You are no longer respected or trusted, and your input is not freely welcome.

Please restrict your posts on the SPCR forums to replies about specific questions concerning products you sell, and refrain from any other communication via SPCR.
