Hi Simon,

Hopefully you are the right Simon I met in Kunming last fall. I am still thinking of you and all the time we spent together. I am still looking for you too. I regret not keeping your email address. So I make up all the possible email address you may use and then send this message. I hope I can find you in this way. This is the only way I can use.

If you are the right Simon please let me know. If you are not, please forgive me. If you know this Simon please tell him April misses him terribly. Thanks a lot.

Bless,

April

** Of course, I'm not the right guy. But if this girl is willing to flood the internet with email to the number of possible combinations of the string "simon" in an email address, then they must have had a hell of a time last fall. Poor girl. :(

These are just poor attempts by spam mailers to get you to email them back to see if they got a legitimate email addy....

Phishing sure has evolved. Back in the day it was, "AOLCatwatch01: Login/password plz"

Now they prey on the somewhat marshmallowy teddy-bear nature of men!

:Q

I wasn't going to reply anyway, even if I was the guy. I'm lazy like that.

Why would you e-mail back if you weren't the right Simon?

This reminds me of the other day when some girl text messaged me "He's here!!!!! Dylan (something or another), 5lbs. 10 oz.!!! Will update more later, Kenya!".

Now I had no clue who this was, but I just played along and said "Congrats!".

The next day I text messaged back "Where are the updates on my new nephew???", and I got "This is Jason, Kenya was using my phone yesterday."....I thought, "Uh oh, I'm busted." but he replied again with "Have you got a pic phone?". I said "You bet your ass I do!", and then he sent me a pic of this alien looking infant boy (all newborns look like shriveled alien raisin babies).

from there I just chatted them up and wasted a morning when I should have been working. I stopped replying when they finally asked me which side of the family I was from!
