Stupid me got sidetracked and forgot to enable MAC address filtering on our wireless router. I checked the settings today and found 2 people logged in that weren't supposed to be there.
Quickly punted them off. Even worse, I had a shared directory with our client list that was supposed to be on a PC with a firewall..just checked and apparently Zone Alarm Pro uninstalled itself when I wasn't looking. I hope none of our information was compromised.

Nothing terribly sensitive..just copies of memos and stuff sent to clients, etc. Also our client list, most of them are publicly listed anyway.

Eh, I leech wireless too. If you leave your door open, I'll help myself to some free access.

"Hope" is not a word someone wants to hear from their person in charge of IT security.

WEP isn't all that difficult to crack. I broke into my own network in about three hours with 128 bit WEP. Naturally it would take longer on other WiFi. I transfered a lot of data for the explicit purpose of testing how long it would take to break the WEP key.

How do you do mac filtering on a Linksys WAP and router? I am also using a Linksys USB WiFi adapter
