EE guys: What is your "saying" to remember resister color codes?

Way back in high school when I was in electricity and learning resister color codes, the teacher had a saying to help us stupid students remember the resister color code bandings. That one was quickly thrown out by the students as being "non-rememberable". The students came up with one that was way better, and I just remembered it as I was looking at a resister pack I found while cleaning. Before you get all pissy, this was in '97 or so and was made up by one of the African Americans in class, so don't shoot me.

Bad (was black, which was the problem I did not want to use.)

I am trying to teach someone else about the color code, but would prefer not to use that saying. Anyone else have an equaly rememberable one? preferably with the % variance codes as well.

Those color codes are the devil. I never understood why they don't just print the damn Ohms on the damn resistor. Yeah it would be tiny but you would probably still be able to read it.
 
ROY G BV are the colors of the standard prism spectrum, so you should know most of that already. The three remaining letters are GWB.

it's actually ROYGBIV for the spectrum, and you forgot about the black and brown... 'tis not an easy way to remember IMHO...

"Lets see the spectrum is ROYGBIV, but take out the indigo, then add black and brown in front, and gold and silver and none and white and... er... wait..."
