Someone is free to look this up but if memory serves the US is 3rd in spending per student up to 12th grade and 1st by a long shot on higher education yet we consistently come in ranked in the 30's in quality of education. Throwing more money at the problem is not working.

Education really is the solution to a better and stronger country. We do not value education in the slightest. We underpay and overwork teachers, to the point where they can barely do their job anymore. Teachers need to be paid like doctors, and only the best of the best can land a teaching gig.

Make public school optional, and at age 16, if you aren't in school, you go to the military. BYE BYE.

die troll

Obama's PR team is now working overtime, after the election? Is his image that bad?

He's nowhere near as bad as A420, Mono, PJSlobber's endless drudge/cato spam the past year. At least the shit he posts is somewhat honest/relevant to whats going on. I dunno about the bigass Obama pics though. That's weird. But hes probably gloating, you guys give people a lot to laugh over.

A lot of people have axes to grind after all this dramatic right wing hate for years, you all are getting it easy, I doubt Obama has the balls to actually be progressive. Damn lucky hes basically a moderate Rep.

The Breaking News means that an event is happening NOW. These initiatives are happening NOW.

The Politics part is Obama.

So that would be Breaking News & Politics.

I'm a huge advocate of a good liberal arts higher education. My wife has been teaching many aspects of biology for decades. Shes earned several degrees, her most advanced ohn molecular genetics earned at one of the top schools. She has mentored and taught some of the finest minds in medicine and science. Yesterday she received an email from one of them who has developed a gene therapy which cures a rare but profound blindness. A genuine cure. My wife supported her when she had her own troubles and served as this womans role model, and she was neither the first nor last.

Obama can't claim a personal influence, intellectual ability or an academic record which compares to the love of my life.

that's great that she is fullfiling her potential and helping others. i'm impressed. before i retired i used to do the plumbing for an ouside contractor at the cold spring harbor lab. nicest people in the world, yap, yap, yap...on and on and on. loved going there. lots of 1% up that way too, all good people.

Hope i eased your resentment, re: BillW/obama

Music has its place in society. It is just one way of expressing yourself. Think of all the times you listended to the radio and how you felt when a song was just right. How in a movie the music of the sound track made everything come together with such intensity. You cant really say music is any more or less important.

Raising the interest rate on student loans while banks get a free ride at Zero %. The reason is that the government is making money off of the Student loans.
