edonkey networking problem

I always get this error " Port 4662 Unreachable ". Can anyone help me out sort this problem? Yes, I know they are lots of websites which address this issue but I'm still not able to figure out the culprit....which is either my comp. or my ISP. First up what does it mean by saying 4662 unreachable? Is it a fault with my computer or Is it not able to reach that port at my ISP's router?....I'm running Windows Xp w/SP1 installed with Internet Firewall disabled. What can I do to make this thing run? I've been trying to do this from 6 months or so but never could find a lead....so I thought I'd ask you guys....what is it that I have to do? If its not my comp fault...is it my ISP's fault? If yes, what can I ask them to do to rectify it...? Edonkey says TCP 4661,4662 and UDP 4665 should be open...but how do I know if they are open or not?

Thanks

Raj

Do you use a broadband router/NAT gateway to share your internet connection to multiple PCs?

If so, you need to set your NAT gateway to forward those ports to your PC's internal LAN IP address so that people can access those ports WAN-LAN.

If you do not use an NAT gateway, it may well be your ISP blocking those ports for ed2k's p2p traffic. You can experiment by specifying different port numbers in your eDonkey client that are not blocked by your ISP to see if that alleviates the problem.
